CHAPTER 20

UNKNOWN

I watch from the darkened doorway of the gym as Moore takes the Witch’s hand and tugs her along with him. My eyes narrow on the mats, and I grin. That was easier than I thought it was going to be.

“What was the point of that?” Irene asks, stepping up to my side and crossing her slim arms over her chest. I roll my eyes and choose to ignore her. She's not worth my time. The students slowly trickle from the gym, some laughing and talking loudly about the fight, while a few look pale and shaky.

“Are you just going to ignore me?” Irene asks, putting a hand on her hip and glaring at me.

“Shut up. You weren't supposed to hurt the girl; that wasn't part of the deal. You should have stuck to the original plan,” I hiss as I watch her roll her eyes at me. Spoiled little cunt that she is. Only she would have the fucking nerve to roll her eyes at me.

“You're lucky that's all I did to that bitch. She deserved more than that! She should have kept her dirty little Witch hands off of my boyfriend!”

“Please, spare me from your pathetic whining. Covington was never your boyfriend and he won't be. Give that shit up.” I look around the gym and slowly walk out onto the brown lacquered wood floors. When no one comes out, I rush over to the mats where the Wolf had been sitting when he shifted back into his human form. A small puddle of ruby red blood glistens there, and I reach into my pocket, remove the silk square I keep in there, and wipe the blood up.

“That's what you wanted? Some blood?” Irene's annoyed voice sounds behind me, and I suppress a hiss before standing and brushing the dirt off of my pants while I study the small amount of blood. “If you needed some blood, I would be more than willing–” I dart my hand out and wrap it around Irene's throat, eyeing her fluttering pulse at the side of her neck.

“I want nothing from you,” I grind out, then release her roughly. She falls to the mats and stares at me with a delicious amount of fear in those plain blue eyes. “You better hope that the person that wants this blood doesn't find out about your little plan for the Witch. If you're smart, you will stay away from her. She will be gone soon enough.”
